    40S Ribosomal Protein SA

Encoded by human LAMR1 Gene (Non-Integrin Family, S2P Family), this 295-amino acid 37-kD protein contains a negative C-terminal segment, amphipathic alpha-helices, and N-glycosylation sites. Identical to 40S Ribosomal Protein SA, the heterodimeric 67-kD Laminin Receptor-1 is a conserved multifunctional protein involved in translation and cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth, and metastasis. Expression in cancer cells correlates with invasive/metastatic phenotype. (from LocusLink, Swiss-Prot, OMIM, and NCI) (NCI Thesaurus)
