Aerococcus urinae
Definition 1
A species of Gram positive, cocci shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Firmicutes. This bacteria is nonmotile, catalase negative, alpha hemolytic, urease negative and produces acid from D mannitol, D sorbitol and sucrose. A. urinae is found in the urinary tract and is associated with urinary tract infections, sepsis, and endocarditis. (NCI Thesaurus)
