Alistipes putredinis
Definition 1
A species of strictly anaerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Bacteroidetes. This bacteria is non-motile, hemolytic, hydrolyzes gelatin, is weakly catalase positive and does not reduce nitrate. A. putredinis is pathogenic in humans and farm animals, causing bacterial appendicitis and foot rot. (NCI Thesaurus)
