    Definition 1

    A substituted dithiolthione and analog of chemopreventive agent oltipraz. Anethole trithione is a bile secretion-stimulating drug that restores salivation and relieves the discomfort of dry mouth in chemotherapy-induced xerostomia. In addition, this agent has exhibited chemopreventive properties. The mechanism of action for the chemopreventive and xerostomia properties have not been fully elucidated. (NCI Thesaurus)
