Ariyadhammasutta
The Teaching of the Noble Ones
“अरियधम्मञ्च वो, भिक्खवे, देसेस्सामि अनरियधम्मञ्च। तं सुणाथ …पे… कतमो च, भिक्खवे, अनरियो धम्मो? पाणातिपातो …पे… मिच्छादिट्ठि—अयं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, अनरियो धम्मो।
“Ariyadhammañca vo, bhikkhave, desessāmi anariyadhammañca. Taṁ suṇātha …pe… katamo ca, bhikkhave, anariyo dhammo? Pāṇātipāto …pe… micchādiṭṭhi—ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, anariyo dhammo.
“Bhikkhus, I will teach you the teaching of the noble ones, and what is not the teaching of the noble ones. Listen and apply your mind well, I will speak. … And what is not the teaching of the noble ones? Killing living creatures … wrong view. This is called what is not the teaching of the noble ones.
कतमो च, भिक्खवे, अरियो धम्मो? पाणातिपाता वेरमणी …पे… सम्मादिट्ठि—अयं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, अरियो धम्मो”ति।
Katamo ca, bhikkhave, ariyo dhammo? Pāṇātipātā veramaṇī …pe… sammādiṭṭhi—ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, ariyo dhammo”ti.
And what is the teaching of the noble ones? Not killing living creatures … right view. This is called the teaching of the noble ones.”
