Defiled
“सासवञ्च वो, भिक्खवे, धम्मं देसेस्सामि अनासवञ्च। तं सुणाथ …पे… कतमो च, भिक्खवे, सासवो धम्मो? पाणातिपातो …पे… मिच्छादिट्ठि—अयं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, सासवो धम्मो।
“Sāsavañca vo, bhikkhave, dhammaṁ desessāmi anāsavañca. Taṁ suṇātha …pe… katamo ca, bhikkhave, sāsavo dhammo? Pāṇātipāto …pe… micchādiṭṭhi—ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, sāsavo dhammo.
“I will teach you the defiled principle and the undefiled. … And what is the defiled principle? Killing living creatures … wrong view. This is called the defiled principle.
कतमो च, भिक्खवे, अनासवो धम्मो? पाणातिपाता वेरमणी …पे… सम्मादिट्ठि—अयं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, अनासवो धम्मो”ति।
Katamo ca, bhikkhave, anāsavo dhammo? Pāṇātipātā veramaṇī …pe… sammādiṭṭhi—ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, anāsavo dhammo”ti.
And what is the undefiled principle? Not killing living creatures … right view. This is called the undefiled principle.”
