“छहि, भिक्खवे, धम्मेहि समन्नागतो सुणन्तोपि सद्धम्मं अभब्बो नियामं ओक्कमितुं कुसलेसु धम्मेसु सम्मत्तं। कतमेहि छहि? कम्मावरणताय समन्नागतो होति, किलेसावरणताय समन्नागतो होति, विपाकावरणताय समन्नागतो होति, अस्सद्धो च होति, अच्छन्दिको च, दुप्पञ्ञो च। इमेहि खो, भिक्खवे, छहि धम्मेहि समन्नागतो सुणन्तोपि सद्धम्मं अभब्बो नियामं ओक्कमितुं कुसलेसु धम्मेसु सम्मत्तं।
“Chahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato suṇantopi saddhammaṁ abhabbo niyāmaṁ okkamituṁ kusalesu dhammesu sammattaṁ. Katamehi chahi? Kammāvaraṇatāya samannāgato hoti, kilesāvaraṇatāya samannāgato hoti, vipākāvaraṇatāya samannāgato hoti, assaddho ca hoti, acchandiko ca, duppañño ca. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, chahi dhammehi samannāgato suṇantopi saddhammaṁ abhabbo niyāmaṁ okkamituṁ kusalesu dhammesu sammattaṁ.
“Bhikkhus, someone with six qualities is unable to enter the sure path with regards to skillful qualities even when listening to the true teaching. What six? They’re obstructed by deeds, defilements, or results. And they’re faithless, unenthusiastic, and witless. Someone with these six qualities is unable to enter the sure path with regards to skillful qualities, even when listening to the true teaching.
छहि, भिक्खवे, धम्मेहि समन्नागतो सुणन्तो सद्धम्मं भब्बो नियामं ओक्कमितुं कुसलेसु धम्मेसु सम्मत्तं। कतमेहि छहि? न कम्मावरणताय समन्नागतो होति, न किलेसावरणताय समन्नागतो होति, न विपाकावरणताय समन्नागतो होति, सद्धो च होति, छन्दिको च, पञ्ञवा च। इमेहि खो, भिक्खवे, छहि धम्मेहि समन्नागतो सुणन्तो सद्धम्मं भब्बो नियामं ओक्कमितुं कुसलेसु धम्मेसु सम्मत्तन्”ति।
Chahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato suṇanto saddhammaṁ bhabbo niyāmaṁ okkamituṁ kusalesu dhammesu sammattaṁ. Katamehi chahi? Imehi kho, bhikkhave, chahi dhammehi samannāgato suṇanto saddhammaṁ bhabbo niyāmaṁ okkamituṁ kusalesu dhammesu sammattan”ti.
Someone with six qualities is able to enter the sure path with regards to skillful qualities when listening to the true teaching. What six? They’re not obstructed by deeds, defilements, or results. And they’re faithful, enthusiastic, and wise. Someone with these six qualities is able to enter the sure path with regards to skillful qualities when listening to the true teaching.”
