Should Be Made Much Of
“बहुलीकातब्बञ्च वो, भिक्खवे, धम्मं देसेस्सामि न बहुलीकातब्बञ्च। तं सुणाथ …पे… कतमो च, भिक्खवे, न बहुलीकातब्बो धम्मो? मिच्छादिट्ठि …पे… मिच्छाविमुत्ति—अयं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, न बहुलीकातब्बो धम्मो। कतमो च, भिक्खवे, बहुलीकातब्बो धम्मो? सम्मादिट्ठि …पे… सम्माविमुत्ति—अयं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, बहुलीकातब्बो धम्मो”ति।
“Bahulīkātabbañca1 vo, bhikkhave, dhammaṁ desessāmi na bahulīkātabbañca. Taṁ suṇātha …pe… katamo ca, bhikkhave, na bahulīkātabbo dhammo? Micchādiṭṭhi …pe… micchāvimutti—ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, na bahulīkātabbo dhammo. Katamo ca, bhikkhave, bahulīkātabbo dhammo? Sammādiṭṭhi …pe… sammāvimutti—ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, bahulīkātabbo dhammo”ti.
“I will teach you the principle to make much of and the principle not to make much of. … And what is the principle not to make much of? Wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong immersion, wrong knowledge, and wrong freedom. This is called the principle not to make much of. And what is the principle to make much of? Right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right immersion, right knowledge, and right freedom. This is called the principle to make much of.”
