“पञ्चहि, भिक्खवे, धम्मेहि समन्नागतो भिक्खु यथाभतं निक्खित्तो एवं निरये। कतमेहि पञ्चहि? पाणातिपाती होति, अदिन्नादायी होति, अब्रह्मचारी होति, मुसावादी होति, सुरामेरयमज्जपमादट्ठायी होति। इमेहि खो, भिक्खवे, पञ्चहि धम्मेहि समन्नागतो भिक्खु यथाभतं निक्खित्तो एवं निरये।
“Pañcahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ niraye. Katamehi pañcahi? Pāṇātipātī hoti, adinnādāyī hoti, abrahmacārī hoti, musāvādī hoti, surāmerayamajjapamādaṭṭhāyī hoti. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ niraye.
“Bhikkhus, a monk with five qualities is cast down to hell. What five? He kills living creatures, steals, has sex, lies, and uses alcoholic drinks that cause negligence. A monk with these five qualities is cast down to hell.
पञ्चहि, भिक्खवे, धम्मेहि समन्नागतो भिक्खु यथाभतं निक्खित्तो एवं सग्गे। कतमेहि पञ्चहि? पाणातिपाता पटिविरतो होति, अदिन्नादाना पटिविरतो होति, अब्रह्मचरिया पटिविरतो होति, मुसावादा पटिविरतो होति, सुरामेरयमज्जपमादट्ठाना पटिविरतो होति। इमेहि खो, भिक्खवे, पञ्चहि धम्मेहि समन्नागतो भिक्खु यथाभतं निक्खित्तो एवं सग्गे”ति।
