Biospecimen Core Resource
A central facility to qualify, quality assure, and distribute human biomolecules in support of the development of the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Standard procedures will be used for all steps, including informed consent, clinical data collection, sample collection, pathology review, biomolecule extractions, quality control, laboratory data collection, and biomolecule distribution. The BCR will minimize the variability introduced by the collection, processing, and handling of tissues. (NCI Thesaurus)
