    Briakinumab

A human monoclonal antibody directed against the human interleukins 12 (IL-12) and 23 (IL-23), with immunomodulating activity. Briakinumab binds to both IL-12 and IL-23, which prevents IL-12- and IL-23-mediated signaling. This may suppress immune responses mediated by these interleukins. The cytokines IL-12 and IL-23 play an important role during inflammation. (NCI Thesaurus)
