Brief Pain Inventory Short Form Questionnaire
Definition 1
A standardized survey originally developed and copyrighted by Charles S. Cleeland in 1991 which is used to evaluate the severity of a patient's pain and the impact that their pain has on their daily activities. This shorter version of the Brief Pain Inventory (BPI) is more useful for clinical trials, can be completed by the patient or in an interview format, and consists of only 9 questions most of which can be answered on a 0-10 rating scale.
