“चत्तारिमानि, भिक्खवे, चक्कानि, येहि समन्नागतानं देवमनुस्सानं चतुचक्कं वत्तति, येहि समन्नागता देवमनुस्सा नचिरस्सेव महन्तत्तं वेपुल्लत्तं पापुणन्ति भोगेसु। कतमानि चत्तारि? पतिरूपदेसवासो, सप्पुरिसावस्सयो, अत्तसम्मापणिधि, पुब्बे च कतपुञ्ञता—
“Cattārimāni, bhikkhave, cakkāni, yehi samannāgatānaṁ devamanussānaṁ catucakkaṁ vattati, yehi samannāgatā devamanussā nacirasseva mahantattaṁ vepullattaṁ pāpuṇanti bhogesu. Katamāni cattāri? Patirūpadesavāso, sappurisāvassayo, attasammāpaṇidhi, pubbe ca katapuññatā—
“Bhikkhus, there are these four situations. When these situations come about, any god or human who takes advantage of them will soon acquire great and abundant wealth. What four? Living in a suitable region, relying on good people, being rightly resolved in oneself, and past merit.
इमानि खो, भिक्खवे, चत्तारि चक्कानि, येहि समन्नागतानं देवमनुस्सानं चतुचक्कं वत्तति, येहि समन्नागता देवमनुस्सा नचिरस्सेव महन्तत्तं वेपुल्लत्तं पापुणन्ति भोगेसूति।
Imāni kho, bhikkhave, cattāri cakkāni, yehi samannāgatānaṁ devamanussānaṁ catucakkaṁ vattati, yehi samannāgatā devamanussā nacirasseva mahantattaṁ vepullattaṁ pāpuṇanti bhogesūti.
These are the four situations. When these situations come about, any god or human who takes advantage of them will soon acquire great and abundant wealth.
पतिरूपे वसे देसे, अरियमित्तकरो सिया; सम्मापणिधिसम्पन्नो, पुब्बे पुञ्ञकतो नरो; धञ्ञं धनं यसो कित्ति, सुखञ्चेतंधिवत्तती”ति।
Patirūpe vase dese, ariyamittakaro siyā; Sammāpaṇidhisampanno, pubbe puññakato naro; Dhaññaṁ dhanaṁ yaso kitti, sukhañcetaṁdhivattatī”ti.
When a person lives in a suitable region, making friends with noble ones, possessing right resolve, and having merit from the past, grain, riches, fame, reputation, and happiness come to them.”
