Human CCHCR1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 6p21.3 and is approximately 16 kb in length. This allele, which encodes coiled-coil alpha-helical rod protein 1, may play a role in keratinocyte differentiation and proliferation. Mutation of the gene is associated with psoriasis.
