    CISH wt Allele

    Human CISH wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 3p21.3 and is approximately 5 kb in length. This allele, which encodes the cytokine inducible SH2-containing protein, is involved in the suppression of cytokine signaling. Deletion of the CISH wild-type allele may play a role in the pathogenesis of renal cell carcinomas and of lung cancer. (NCI Thesaurus)
