Colony Stimulating Factor 2 Receptor Alpha Chain
Expressed as alternative membrane-bound and soluble isoforms (3, 4, and 6) by human CSF2RA Gene (Type I Cytokine Receptor 5 Family), Colony Stimulating Factor 2 Receptor Alpha Chain is a type I membrane protein with a box 1 motif for JAK interaction/activation; a WSXWS motif for protein folding, intracellular transport, and cell-surface receptor binding; and the alpha subunit of a heterodimeric low affinity receptor for granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor. The receptor signal transducing beta chain is common to the IL3-, IL5- and GM-CSF receptors. CSF2R transduces the CSF2 signal for proliferation, differentiation, and activation of (primarily) granulocyte and macrophage hematopoietic cells. (NCI Thesaurus)
