Comamonas testosteroni
Definition 1
A species of aerobic, Gram negative, rod and cocci shaped bacterium assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is oxidase positive, non-fermenting and grows in plates containing testosterone. C. testosteroni is found in soil and water, is used in industry to breakdown industrial by-products, and is rarely found to be pathogenic in humans. (NCI Thesaurus)
