Community Physician
A medical practitioner whose primary concern is the health status of the population within a defined geographic area, who is usually responsible for assessment and evaluation of the community's health needs and for the organisation of health services to meet those needs. He will generally not render primary health care, except for specific disease entities such as selected communicable diseases. His role varies from country to country, but he is usually employed by a government agency. (NCI Thesaurus)
