    Core-Binding Factor

CBF is an alpha/beta heterodimeric transcription factor involved in the transcriptional regulation of several genes important in hematopoiesis. The CBFalpha subunit binds directly to the enhancer core DNA sequence on target genes, whereas the beta subunit does not bind the DNA directly but increases the affinity and stabilizes the binding of the alpha subunit to the DNA.
