    DNA Polymerase Inhibitor

    Any substance that inhibits DNA polymerase, an enzyme that catalyzes the addition of deoxyribonucleotide residues to the end of a DNA molecule. Inhibition of DNA polymerase causes an inhibition of DNA synthesis and results in cell cycle arrest. (NCI Thesaurus)
