DND1 wt Allele
Human DND1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 5q31.3 and is approximately 3 kb in length. This allele, which encodes dead end protein homolog 1 protein, plays a role in regulating gene expression by prohibiting miRNA-mediated gene suppression. Reduced expression of this gene has been implicated in tongue squamous cell carcinoma. (NCI Thesaurus)
