Doppler Echocardiography
A procedure that uses sound waves to measure characteristics of disturbed bood flow, such as direction, velocity and turbulence. This enables the examiner to differentiate between normal and abnormal flow patterns and, in some cases, to quantitate those characteristics that are helpful in determining the severity of abnormal flow states.
