    Edwardsiella ictaluri

    Definition 1

    A species of facultatively anaerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacterium assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is nonmotile, indole, urease and oxidase negative, catalase positive and reduces nitrate. E. ictaluri is pathogenic in catfish. (NCI Thesaurus)
