    Endometrioid Stromal Neoplasm

    A mesenchymal gynecologic neoplasm. It is classified as endometrial stromal nodule or endometrioid stromal sarcoma. Endometrial stromal nodule has been described in the uterine corpus and it is characterized by the lack of infiltration of the surrounding tissues. Endometrioid stromal sarcoma affects the uterine corpus, ovaries, cervix, and vagina. It is characterized by an infiltrative growth pattern and is subdivided into low grade and undifferentiated (high grade) stromal sarcoma. (NCI Thesaurus)
