Estrogen Binding Domain
The Estrogen Binding Domain is an all-helical ligand-binding domain within its nuclear hormone receptor. Steroid hormones, such as estrogen, and their receptors regulate eukaryotic gene expression, affecting target cell proliferation and differentiation. Hormone-receptor complexes recognize discrete DNA sequences upstream of transcription start sites. (NCI Thesaurus)
