    Extraosseous Ewing Sarcoma

    A rare malignant neoplasm of the soft tissues. It is typically a disease of children and young adults. It is characterized by t(11:22) (q24: q12) resulting in the expression of EWS/FLI-1 chimeric transcript. Most commonly occurs in the paravertebral region, chest wall, pelvis and lower extremities. Treatment includes local excision with consideration for post operative chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. (NCI Thesaurus)
