Definition 1
The leakage of blood, lymph, or other fluid, such as an anticancer drug, from a blood vessel or tube into the tissue around it. It is also used to describe the movement of cells out of a blood vessel into tissue during inflammation or metastasis (the spread of cancer). (NCI Dictionary)

The leakage of body fluid or cells from the vascular system to the surrounding tissues. This process occurs either by force or as a result of a pathologic reaction (e.g., inflammation). This process may sometimes allow cancer cells to migrate from capillaries to adjacent tissues, initiating micro-metastases. (NCI Thesaurus)
