Feline Immunodeficiency Virus
A lentivirus causing acquired immunodeficiency in cats. The FIV virus is transmitted in the saliva or blood, commonly through the bite wound from an infected cat. Strictly a feline disease, FIV cannot be transmitted to humans. (NCI Thesaurus)
