GM2-KLH Vaccine/QS21
A cancer vaccine based on the immunogenic ganglioside GM2, The GM2-KLH Vaccine/QS21 vaccine consists of GM2 conjugated with KLH keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH), a potent immunostimulant, and is admixed with the adjuvant QS21, a saponin fraction extracted from the bark of the South American tree Quillaja saponaria Molina. GM2 is a cell surface carbohydrate antigen expressed by most melanoma cells and various other tumor cell types. (NCI Thesaurus)
