Gordonia sputi
Definition 1
A species of aerobic, Gram positive, coryneform bacteria assigned to the phylum Actinobacteria. This species is catalase positive, slightly acid fast, nonmotile and metabolizes D arabitol, succinate and caprate. G. sputi is an opportunistic pathogen, causing endocarditis and bacteremia in surgical and catheterized patients. (NCI Thesaurus)
