Hemipelagic sediments
Deep-sea sediment in which more than 25% of the fraction coarser than 5 microns is of terrigenous, volcanogenic, and/or neritic origin. Such deposits usually accumulate near the continental margin. (NOAA Paleoclimate Glossary)
