    Hyperlipoproteinemia Type I

    A genetic disorder of lipoprotein metabolism caused by mutations in the LPL and apolipoprotein (apo) C-II genes. It is characterized by increased levels of chylomicrons and triglycerides in the blood. (NCI Thesaurus)
