    IL8RB wt Allele

Human IL8RB wild-type allele is located within 2q35 and is approximately 11 kb in length. This allele, which encodes high affinity interleukin-8 receptor B protein, is involved in the mediation of neutrophil migration to sites of inflammation, cellular growth, and angiogenic effects in intestinal microvascular endothelial cells. Allelic variants of the gene are associated with serum-dependent melanoma cell growth. (NCI Thesaurus)
