    Immature T-Lymphocyte

A cell developed in the thymus that differentiates into a mature T-lymphocyte. The maturation is dependent on several transcription factors including GATA-3 and c-Myb. The expression of the pre-T cell receptor alpha (pTa) gene occurs exclusively in the immature T lymphocyte. (NCI Thesaurus)
