Interferon Alpha 13
Encoded by human IFNA13 Gene (IFN Alpha Family) and expressed by macrophages, secreted 189-amino acid 21.7 kD (precursor) Interferon Alpha 13 contains the interferon alpha/beta domain and appears to regulate antiviral defense, cell growth, and immune activation; it stimulates the production of a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase. Interferons Alpha-13 and Alpha-1 have identical protein sequence. (from LocusLink, Swiss-Prot, OMIM, and NCI) (NCI Thesaurus)
