    Interleukin 12 Receptor

Human high affinity Interleukin 12 Receptor is composed of Interleukin 12 Receptor Beta 1 Chain (I12RB1) and Interleukin 12 Receptor Beta 2 Chain (IL12RB2), each a type I transmembrane disulfide-linked dimer/oligomer protein containing 5 FNIII domains, a box 1 motif required for JAK interaction/activation, and a WSXWS motif for protein folding, intracellular transport, and cell-surface receptor binding. Involved in IL12 signal transduction, IL12RB1 and IL12RB2 oligomers act as low affinity IL12 receptors. (NCI Thesaurus)
