    Interleukin 8 Receptor Beta

Interleukin-8 is a member of a family of pro-inflammatory cytokines. The best-characterized activities of IL8 include the chemoattraction and activation of neutrophils. There are two IL8 receptors, type 1 (alpha) and type 2 (beta). The type 1 IL8 receptor binds only IL8, while the type 2 IL8 receptor binds also GRO and NAP-2. (NCI Thesaurus/from OMIM)
