    Kocuria kristinae

    Definition 1

    A species of aerobic, Gram positive, cocci shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Actinobacteria. This species is oxidase positive, nonencapsulated, non spore forming and hydrolyzes esculin. K. kristinae is part of the normal flora of the skin but may have pathogenic potential in surgical patients. (NCI Thesaurus)
