    KRAS wt Allele

Human KRAS wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 12p12.1 and is approximately 45 kb in length. This allele, which encodes GTPase KRas protein, plays a role in the modulation of both cellular proliferation and differentiation. Mutations in the gene are associated with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia, Noonan syndrome 3 and cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome. (NCI Thesaurus)
