    Lartruvo

    Pronunciation

A drug used with doxorubicin to treat soft tissue sarcoma that cannot be treated with radiation therapy or surgery. It is used in patients whose cancer has not already been treated with an anthracycline (a type of anticancer drug). It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Lartruvo binds to a receptor for a protein called platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), which is found on some types of cancer cells. Blocking this protein receptor may help keep cancer cells from growing and prevent the growth of new blood vessels that tumors need to grow. Lartruvo is a type of monoclonal antibody. Also called anti-PDGFR alpha monoclonal antibody IMC-3G3, anti-platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha monoclonal antibody IMC-3G3, IMC-3G3, and olaratumab. (NCI Dictionary)
