Lobular intraepithelial neoplasia
Pronunciation
A condition in which abnormal cells are found in the lobules (glands that make milk) of the breast. This condition rarely becomes cancer. However, having lobular intraepithelial neoplasia in one breast increases the risk of breast cancer in either breast. Types of lobular intraepithelial neoplasia include atypical lobular hyperplasia and lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS). Also called LIN and lobular neoplasia. (NCI Dictionary)
