Microtubule Associated Protein
Proteins associated with the microtubule assembly infrastructure. These proteins include specialized motor proteins (dynein and kinesin) and smaller tubulin-crosslinking proteins (tau proteins). The proteins are required for both microtubule assembly and stabilization. (NCI Thesaurus)
