    mitomycin C

    Pronunciation

    A drug used to treat advanced cancer of the stomach and pancreas that has not gotten better with other treatment. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Mitomycin C comes from bacteria. It damages the cell’s DNA and may kill cancer cells. It is a type of anticancer antibiotic. Also called Mitozytrex and Mutamycin. (NCI Dictionary)
