    Moraxella atlantae

    Definition 1

    A species of aerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is oxidase positive, negative for urease, phenylalanine deaminase and tryptophan deaminase, is unable to grow on solid medium at 4 to 10 degrees C, and is relatively halointolerant. M. atlantae is normally found in human blood and is an emerging nosocomial pathogen. (NCI Thesaurus)
