    MYCN wt Allele

    Human MYCN wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 2p24.1 and is approximately 6 kb in length. This allele, which encodes N-myc proto-oncogene protein, is involved in the modulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. The gene is expressed at elevated levels in neuroblastoma, retinoblastoma, small cell lung carcinoma and astrocytoma. (NCI Thesaurus)
