Norway start a complete switch-off of national FM radio stations
Norway becomes the first country to start a complete switch-off of national FM radio stations.
The change, from the analogue FM system to digital audio broadcasting, started on 11 January 2017 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The switch-off will not affect local and some regional radio stations. Some local radio stations will continue to transmit on FM until 2022.
Some, such as the Norwegian Local Radio Association, are concerned about the impact on motorists and the elderly. (Wikipedia)
