    p21 RAS Protein

    Definition 1

Cellular protein encoded by the RAS genes. The protein has intrinsic GTPase activity and is involved in transmembrane signal transduction as a guanine nucleotide binding protein. Elevated levels of p21 c-ras have been associated with neoplasia. (NCI Thesaurus)

    Definition 2

Cellular protein encoded by the H-ras, K-ras and N-ras genes. The protein has GTPase activity and is involved in signal transduction as a monomeric GTP-Binding protein. Elevated levels of p21 c-ras have been associated with neoplasia. EC 3.6.1.-. (NLM, Medical Subject Headings)
