Pasteurella pneumotropica
Definition 1
A species of facultatively anaerobic, Gram-negative, coccobacillus shaped bacteria in the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is nonmotile, non-spore forming, not acid fast, catalase, oxidase, phosphatase, urease, ornithine decarboxylase, and indole positive, reduces nitrate, not beta-hemolytic, produces a strong odor, but does not hydrolyze esculin. P. pneumotropica was isolated from rodents and is pathogenic to humans. (NCI Thesaurus)
