    Black Snakes (1st)

    “පඤ්චිමේ, භික්ඛවේ, ආදීනවා කණ්හසප්පේ. කතමේ පඤ්ච? අසුචි, දුග්ගන්ධෝ, සභීරු, සප්පටිභයෝ, මිත්තදුබ්භී. ඉමේ ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, පඤ්ච ආදීනවා කණ්හසප්පේ.

    “Bhikkhus, there are these five drawbacks of a black snake. What five? It’s filthy, stinking, cowardly, frightening, and treacherous. These are the five dangers of a black snake.

    ඒවමේවං ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, පඤ්චිමේ ආදීනවා මාතුගාමේ. කතමේ පඤ්ච? අසුචි, දුග්ගන්ධෝ, සභීරු, සප්පටිභයෝ, මිත්තදුබ්භී. ඉමේ ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, පඤ්ච ආදීනවා මාතුගාමේ”ති.

    In the same way there are five drawbacks of a female. What five? She’s filthy, stinking, cowardly, frightening, and treacherous. These are the five drawbacks of a female.”
