    Bad Mental Conduct (1st)

    “पञ्चिमे, भिक्खवे, आदीनवा मनोदुच्चरिते …पे… आनिसंसा मनोसुचरिते। कतमे पञ्च? अत्तापि अत्तानं न उपवदति; अनुविच्च विञ्ञू पसंसन्ति; कल्याणो कित्तिसद्दो अब्भुग्गच्छति; असम्मूळ्हो कालं करोति; कायस्स भेदा परं मरणा सुगतिं सग्गं लोकं उपपज्जति। इमे खो, भिक्खवे, पञ्च आनिसंसा मनोसुचरिते”ति।

    “Pañcime, bhikkhave, ādīnavā manoduccarite …pe… ānisaṁsā manosucarite. Katame pañca? Attāpi attānaṁ na upavadati; anuvicca viññū pasaṁsanti; kalyāṇo kittisaddo abbhuggacchati; asammūḷho kālaṁ karoti; kāyassa bhedā paraṁ maraṇā sugatiṁ saggaṁ lokaṁ upapajjati. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ānisaṁsā manosucarite”ti.

    “Bhikkhus, there are these five drawbacks in bad mental conduct … benefits in good mental conduct …”
